Music Therapist

Anne O’Rourke, MMT, MT-BC is a board certified music therapist. They earned their bachelor's degree in Music Therapy at Molloy University (2017) and completed their Masters in Music Therapy degree at Slippery Rock University in August 2025. Anne has worked in early childhood special education since 2017. They currently serve individuals of all ages and all abilities at The Music Academy for Special Learners.

In 2023, Anne released their debut children’s album, titled “Make a Little Music,” that features eight original songs. These songs, alongside dozens of other music compositions and adaptation videos, are available on their YouTube channel, @missannemusictherapy. The video content on their YouTube and Instagram accounts help generalize music experiences beyond the music circle and provide free, accessible resources to parents and caregivers. The videos are curated to support young learners engage more with themselves, their communities, and their world. Outside of their full-time job, they facilitate music and movement enrichment groups at local libraries across Suffolk County, New York, for young children and their families. They believe in the power of music and the ability as a music therapist to help individuals strengthen relationships with others and build a true foundation for learning & living.
